Product details

The Invigoration Series generator sits outside the shower and must be within 25 ft of the steam head. Kohler’s Fast-Response technology starts steam in about 60 seconds, and Constant Steam keeps the output steady so the temperature does not swing. Power Clean runs the cleaning cycle at the touch of a button. A 20-minute session uses about one gallon of water.

Multiply your shower’s width × height × depth in feet and choose the smallest size whose rating covers it. Kohler recommends a ceiling of 8 ft or less; for each foot above 8 ft, go up one size. Do not exceed the maximum rating. Not sure? Use our steam generator sizing calculator.

What else you need

A control and steam head (required). With a Kohler Invigoration generator, use either the K-5557 control kit (control plus a round steam head), or the K-32312 controller with a K-32309 linear or K-32310 square steam head.
A drain pan (recommended). Kohler recommends the K-5559 small drain pan for the 5 to 11 kW generators. The 13 and 15 kW generators use Kohler’s K-5562 large drain pan; call us if you need one.

Installation requirements

Power: a dedicated 240V circuit sized as in the table. Kohler specifies no GFCI on this circuit.
Distance: install the generator within 25 ft of the steam head.
Connections: 3/8 in. NPT water inlet, 1/2 in. NPT steam outlet and a 3/4 in. NPT pressure relief valve.
Access: leave an access panel of at least 24 × 15 in. and 6 in. of space around the generator. The side opposite the pressure relief valve can sit against a wall.
Water quality: Kohler recommends feed water hardness of 60 ppm (4 grains per gallon) or less. Test your water before first use and treat it if needed.
Who installs it: a licensed electrician for the circuit and a licensed plumber for the water, steam and relief lines.
