How to choose a steam shower generator
- Measure the shower. Multiply length × width × height in feet to get cubic feet.
- Allow for the materials. The room sizes we list assume a tiled shower with an 8 ft ceiling. Natural stone, glass walls and taller or sloped ceilings need a larger size.
- Pick the size that covers your number, then choose the control and steam head.

Generator or kit?
A steam shower kit is the simplest choice for a new steam shower: the generator, control and steam head arrive together and match. Buy a generator on its own to replace an old one, or to choose a different control or steam head.
Planning the installation
- A dedicated 240V circuit. The amps, breaker and wire size for each model are on the product page.
- A cold or hot water supply line and a steam line to the shower.
- A sealed shower: a door and walls that keep the steam in, and a ceiling sloped so water runs off.
Questions before you buy
What size steam generator do I need?
Multiply the shower's length × width × height in feet. Choose a size whose listed room size is at or above that number. Go one size up for stone walls, glass walls or ceilings over 8 ft. Call 1-815-603-2178 with your measurements and we will size it for you.
Can a steam generator run on 120V?
No. Every steam generator on this page needs a dedicated 240V circuit. Each product page lists the amps, breaker size and wire gauge for every size.
Where does the steam generator go?
Outside the shower, in a dry space you can reach for service, such as a vanity, closet, attic or basement near the shower. The installation manual on each product page lists the maximum distance from the shower.
Do I need anything besides the generator?
Yes, a control and a steam head. A steam shower kit includes all three. If you buy a generator on its own, add a control and a steam head.
Who should install it?
A licensed electrician for the 240V circuit and a licensed plumber for the water and steam lines. The installation manual and planning guide are on each product page.
