ThermaSol PRO III Sizing Guide: Which Model Do I Need?
The ThermaSol PRO III steam generator comes in seven models, from the PRO-84 to the PRO-1200. The number in each model name is the largest room it covers, in cubic feet: a PRO-240 covers rooms up to 240 cu ft. This guide shows how to measure your shower, which model fits, and what else you need.

How to measure your shower
- Measure the inside length and width of the shower, in feet.
- Measure the height from the floor to the ceiling. If the ceiling slopes, use the highest point.
- Multiply length × width × height. That is your room volume in cubic feet.
- Choose the first PRO III model whose number is at or above your volume.

When to choose a bigger model
Stone or marble walls, glass block, a ceiling over 8 ft or an outside wall all take more steam, so these rooms often need the next size up. Call us at 1-815-603-2178 and we will check your room before you order.
- Stone, marble or glass block walls soak up more heat than tile on cement board.
- Ceilings over 8 ft add volume, and steam rises to the top first.
- An outside wall or a large glass door loses heat faster.
Replacing an older ThermaSol generator
If you are replacing an older ThermaSol PRO Series generator, the number in its model name (for example PRO-240 or PRO-395) shows the room size it was chosen for, so matching that number is a good starting point. Send us a photo of the label at 1-815-603-2178 and we will confirm the right PRO III model and whether your control can stay.
What else you need
- A control. Choose the ThermaTouch2 (7, 10 or 15 in. touchscreen), the SignaTouch (5 in.) or the MicroTouch.
- A steam head. The SteamVection, No-Touch and Legacy heads each have an aromatherapy well.
- Or a control kit, which pairs the control with a SteamVection steam head: ThermaTouch2 kit, SignaTouch kit or MicroTouch kit.
- Optional: a PRO Series drain pan under the generator, and a longer CAN bus control cable if the control is far from the generator.
- Extras: a heated towel warmer, a fog-free heated mirror or a dimmable shower light.

Common questions
Is the PRO III the same as the ThermaSol PRO Series?
The PRO III is the current generation of ThermaSol’s PRO Series steam generators.
Should I size up to be safe?
Only when your room has one of the conditions above. Otherwise choose the first model at or above your volume: a bigger model costs more and may need a bigger electrical circuit.
Does the PRO III work for a commercial steam room?
